Luggage Warranty Coverage

This page sets out the 100-day trial and 10-year limited warranty on Maverick & Co. luggage. If you have any questions, reach our customer support team at support@maverickandco.co — we're glad to look into your situation and help.

100-day trial

Luggage may be returned within 100 days of delivery if you are not satisfied with it.

To be eligible for a trial return, the luggage must be in brand-new, unused condition, with all original packaging intact and the combination lock reset to 0-0-0. Luggage that has been used in transit is not eligible. Return shipping is the customer's responsibility. Items purchased under clearance sale, and luggage personalized by Maverick & Co., are not eligible for trial returns.

To start a return, contact us at support@maverickandco.co. Once the luggage is received and inspected, your refund will be issued to the original payment method.

How our luggage warranty works

Every Maverick & Co. suitcase is built to be lived with, and backed for the long haul. Our luggage carries a 10-year limited warranty against manufacturer's defect under responsible use, with comprehensive 1st-year hassle-free coverage on top.

The warranty extends only to luggage manufactured by Maverick & Co. and purchased directly from our official website (https://www.maverickandco.co). It does not cover products bought through any third-party vendor, retailer, or marketplace, or any item under clearance sale at the time of order. The warranty period begins on the date of purchase. It does not cover your product if you use it in a manner that is incompatible with the intended design and purpose.

Damage during transport

If your luggage is damaged in transit, contact the airline or travel provider before you leave the baggage claim area. Airlines are responsible for handling damage, and many enforce a short claim window — some as little as 24 hours. Addressing it at the airport gives you the best chance of a resolved claim. Transit damage is handled by the carrier, not under this warranty.

First year: hassle-free coverage

For the first 365 days after purchase, both functional issues and manufacturing defects are covered. We'll repair the piece or, if it can't be repaired, replace it.

Defect vs. functional issue: how we define the line

The same part can fail in different ways, so it matters which kind of failure has occurred.

A manufacturing defect is a fault in materials or construction that was present from the point of manufacture, even if it only becomes apparent later. On our luggage these are a defined set of failure modes: hydrolysis of the plastic handles or wheels (the material breaking down on its own), wheel detachment from a sound mount, and a missing expansion zipper puller. Manufacturing defects are covered for the full 10 years.

A functional issue is a loss of function that comes from use rather than from how the part was made — for example, a wheel worn down through mileage, a zipper strained out of alignment, or a plastic handle loosened through repeated use. Functional issues are covered only during the first-year hassle-free period; after that they are treated as wear and tear.

If one of the defined defect modes above is present, the claim is treated as a defect regardless of the luggage's age. A part that has simply worn out is a functional issue, not a defect. Where the cause is unclear, Maverick & Co. will assess the part and determine whether the failure is a defect or wear, and that assessment is the basis of the claim.

What's covered

Coverage depends on the type of issue and when it occurs. The summary below applies to all Maverick & Co. luggage.

First year (hassle-free) — covered

Functional issues — loss of function in:

  • Wheels
  • Side and top plastic handles
  • Zipper
  • Trolley (telescopic handle system)
  • TSA lock

Manufacturing defects:

  • Side / top plastic handle hydrolysis
  • Wheel hydrolysis
  • Wheel detachment
  • Missing expansion zipper puller

Years 2 to 10 — covered

Manufacturing defects only:

  • Side / top plastic handle hydrolysis
  • Wheel hydrolysis
  • Wheel detachment

Not covered in this period: functional issues that arise from normal use — wheels, side and top plastic handles, zipper, trolley, and TSA lock. After the first year these are treated as wear and tear.

Never covered (any period)

Accidental damage caused by:

  • Excessive force
  • Overpacking
  • Misuse of cleaning products (acids, solvents)
  • Extreme temperatures
  • Moisture and sunlight
  • Vegan leather and fabric abrasion, rips, tears, cuts
  • Melted zippers and fabrics

Cosmetic damage:

  • Minor dents (no cracks)
  • Scratches
  • Discoloration
  • Scuffs
  • Stains

Years 2 to 10: maintenance & repair

From the start of the 2nd year through the end of the 10th, we cover manufacturing defects that surface from regular use or that existed before sale. Functional wear from everyday use is no longer covered in this period, but we'll help you keep the piece going.

Our luggage is designed to be repaired. Where practical, we'll ship the parts and self-service instructions you need. If a repair can't be completed that way, we'll point you to the nearest authorized repair option. Because designs evolve, exact parts may vary; if we can't match your collection, we'll offer an alternative. Repairs that aren't due to a manufacturing defect may be subject to processing or handling fees.

Self-repair kit & replacement parts

When the unexpected happens, our self-repair kit puts the fix in your hands. Coverage spans the parts most likely to need attention: zipper puller, top plastic handle, side plastic handle, TSA locks, and wheels.

The telescopic handle (trolley handle) is not part of the self-repair kit and is not a self-replaceable part. Any issue with the telescopic handle is handled by Maverick & Co. directly, under the coverage terms above.

Replacement parts supplied under warranty do not restart or extend your luggage's warranty period — the original end date stands. Where a repair must be carried out at an authorized repair center, you are responsible for the cost of shipping the product to that center.

What's not covered

Shell dents. Dents from regular use come from substantial force and aren't covered. A repair may restore function, but the finish may not be fully recoverable.

Shell cracks. Each case is assessed individually. Cracks from regular use typically stem from substantial force and aren't covered. If our investigation finds the crack resulted from a structural weak point, we'll offer a replacement of similar value. Maverick & Co. retains the right to determine defective shells.

Wear and tear. Normal wear and tear isn't covered. We'll help extend your luggage's life by replacing standard worn or broken parts where available (side and top plastic handles, wheels, zippers, locks) — fees may apply.

Personalized items. Personalized luggage remains covered against manufacturer's defect, but replacements and repair parts will be supplied as standard, non-customized products and parts. Items personalized by third parties — particularly where the product was disassembled or treated with potentially damaging methods — are not covered.

Incidental or consequential damage

Incidental or consequential damage — such as damage to or loss of a bag's contents, loss of use, or loss of time — is not covered under this warranty.

The warranty does not apply if

— Your proof of purchase is lost, defaced, or illegible.
— The purchase was made through an unauthorized reseller, imported without permission, or sold as used, returned, reconditioned, or refurbished.
— Any unauthorized modification or repair has been made.

Effective date & transferability

This warranty is effective on luggage purchased from 1st January 2026 onwards. It extends only to the original purchaser or their gift recipient and is non-transferable.

What happens in the event of a defect

In the event of a defect, a repair or replacement will be provided at the option of Maverick & Co., subject to the responsibilities above. A replacement may be produced in a different batch, so a slight variation in color or finish can occur, especially on natural materials. You must provide proof of the original date of purchase. We'll investigate the cause and determine the appropriate solution. Any repaired or replaced product carries the same warranty as the original — the same last day of coverage.

In no event shall Maverick & Co. be liable to you or any third party for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising out of the use of the product, including property damage, loss of value of the product, or any third-party products used in or with the product, even if Maverick & Co. has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Notwithstanding any damages you might incur for any reason, the entire liability of Maverick & Co. shall be limited to the actual amount paid by you for the product.
